Please Don’t say it!

This morning is a very cool day instead of shorts I have on long pants.  I really don’t want to even think it, I don’t want to write it, and I don’t want to speak but it is still true.  So I will not say it or write it.    The days are already getting shorter.  Mornings are getting cooler.  You know what I mean.

This does not seem fair!  We have not had much of a summer.  It has been really wet and every cool.  We get a day of warm weather and then we are back to cool and wet.

I don’t even want to think about it.  I am hoping that we will get a warm fall that will last until December.  In many ways we deserve a nice fall with all the cool and wet weather we have been having.  I feel sorry for those with cottages, where the beech is gone because of high water levels, the people with pools who have not used them much because of the cool.  I feel sorry for the children who can’t play outside because it is wet and I feel sorry for the Mom’s and Dad’s who have to  figure out what they can do with them.

I feel sorry for those who love to garden and can’t get in there because of the wet weather.

I feel sorry for the farmer who has had crops washed away in the rain.

I feel sorry for anyone who lives along a body of water that continues to rise daily.  What a worry they have

I believe we can all agree that I should not say it at all.  So I will not say it or write it.  Yet it does not change the facts because facts are facts.

Another thing we do not want to talk about or write about is sin.  If we just ignore it it will go away but it does not go away.  In fact it gets worse.

We think if we ignore it act as if it never happened then it will not happen.  But it is a fact that we have all sinned.

“Come now, let us reason together,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.”

By admitting our sin they can be dealt with.  By admitting our sin we can be free of them and experience the love and the grace of God.

This weeks message is an encouragement to pray I have sinned!  I hope to see you this week or if you can’t make it then go to and listen to the sermon next week.
